The 13th Annual DC State Fair will include contests, local vendors, and a celebration of the District’s agricultural, culinary, and creative talents.
Join us, rain or shine!
The DC State Fair is a free showcase of the District’s creative talents and a daylong celebration of all things homegrown. Inspired by time-honored state fair traditions—growing and gardening, contests, and deep-fried foods—the DC State Fair honors the things that make the District of Columbia unique. This means the DC State Fair holds competitions to find the tastiest mumbo sauce, best honey, the top photographers with a creative eye and puts on a Pet Parade instead of a pig race. We work with local businesses and organizations that are committed to helping our community thrive.
Explore the 20+ contests taking place this year! Along with our long-beloved contests—like Pie, Homebrew, and Honey—we are introducing new and exciting categories in 2022 to celebrate a wider range of talents from you, the residents of the District of Columbia. Contest registrations will close on Monday, Sept. 5, 11:59pm.

Plan Ahead
The nearest Metro Station is Congress Heights (green line). There will be a free DC Circulator available from the metro station to the Fair. Our Friends at goDCgo created a Get Around Guide for the DC State Fair to help plan your trip.
Pack a reusable water bottle, reusable cutlery, and a shopping bag. The DC State Fair makes a concerted effort to reduce waste, and you can be part of the solution. From introducing composting, to encouraging vendors to use compostable food service ware, to training and overseeing volunteers to staff on-site “zero waste stations,” the DC State Fair is working towards being zero waste in all operations.
Want to join us on stage? We’re always on the lookout for local entertainers to perform at events.
