Main Stage

Our Main Stage will feature live competitions, performances from local artists, and the winners of some of our most popular contests.

Education Stage

Whether you want to watch a cooking demonstration or build skills that will improve a life lived in Washington, D.C., our Education Stage will feature demonstrations and workshops coordinated by Knowledge Commons DC: a free, volunteer-run floating school that holds classes throughout the area. At Knowledge Commons DC, anyone can teach classes, and anyone can take classes. Our partnership seeks to amplify the voices of teachers and students engaged in free and hospitable knowledge sharing, collaborative learning, and community exchange.

Unless otherwise noted, all classes are 45 minutes long.

11:30 a.m. Flower Arrangement Demonstration with Kathy Jentz of Washington Gardener Magazine
1 p.m. Public Space Recycling with Anacostia Riverkeeper
2 p.m. Hands-On Fingerpainting with Liz Liang (Kids welcome, with adult supervision.)
3 p.m. Build Your Own Body Weight Training Workout with Gitanjali Borkar of G Moves
4 p.m. Urban Agriculture Panel Discussion
5 p.m. Shadow Puppet Demonstration with Genna Beth Davidson of Wit’s End Puppets

Even More Fun

Additional entertainment will take place throughout the day on and around the fairgrounds, including our third annual Pet Parade, the judging of more than 20 contests and trivia in the Beer Garden.
