In fall of 2010, the first DC State Fair Bake Sale was held at the 14th and U Street Farmers Market to raise funds for the DC State Fair to become a 501 (c)(3) non-profit. After lots of paperwork, in February of 2011, it was official. The Board is so grateful for the outpouring of support from the DC community.
The 2011 big event is less than two months away and another bake sale is being held at Zorbas Cafe in Dupont Circle to fundraise for the event’s activities. We are looking for bakers and volunteers. If you are interested in donating baked goods or if you can volunteer some time on Sunday, July 17th between 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., please email Sylvie at theDCStateFair.org. We are looking to sell cookies, brownies, rice krispy treats, pies, muffins, cupcakes, and much more.
Even if you cannot volunteer, please help us out by spreading the word about the bake sale. We need as many people as possible to come to Zorba’s Cafe and buy up the delicious treats.
An event like the DC State Fair could never happen without the support of the community. Thank you for everything. See you at the bake sale.
